Kristie & Aaron's Summer Southend Barns Wedding.

November 06, 2013

Kristie France was married to Aaron Inglethorpe on a beautiful summers day at Southend Barns. A truly stunning wedding venue in Chichester, West Sussex. Southend Barns is one of the newer barn venues in West Sussex. I had the honour of photographing the second wedding ever held there last July. On that occasion it was a typical English rainy summers day! So it was a real delight to wake up on the morning of Kristie & Aaron's wedding to glorious sunshine. The venue has so many fantastic areas to photograph & the attention to detail that owners Mariella & Will Fleming have put into the venue is outstanding. I knew I had a fabulous day of photography ahead of me.

I was very excited to be photographing Kristie & Aaron as I had got to know them prior to the wedding and they are a fantastic, young, fun and modern couple, who on meeting me on their planning session said to me "do whatever you feel best on the day, we trust you totally and have never seen an image of yours that we don't like". This left the door open to new and creative ideas.

I met Aaron & his grooms men in the morning at their home in Chichester. There was a great atmosphere of calm chaos! All the guys were open to my ideas, although a couple of them may have looked at me a little funny when I asked them to all lay on the floor with their legs in the air and "smile"!

As you will see, their dog Alfie features well at the wedding, being a special part of the day. Joining them for photo shoots and the wedding ceremony. He had no problem posing for me!

I moved on to the venue itself where Kristie was getting ready with her close family and bridesmaids. Kristie looked amazing in her stunning silk Ian Stuart wedding gown. I felt it only right to show off its beauty and detail by photographing her in the bathroom. They did say to do what ever I felt!

The day ran like clock work with a lovely relaxed and happy feel. The couple enjoyed laughter throughout their service, drinks of Pimms & chilled Coronas in bottles and group photographs on the lawn. This was followed by some quiet time while we photographed around the barn showing off not only its fantastic decor but all the details that Kristie and her family put into creating a classy vintage style wedding.

The day was made only more perfect with a sunset shoot in the beautiful fields surrounding the barn. But I would like to end my blog with one of my favorite first dance images of the year. This truly captures Kristie & Aaron's great personallities & shows how much they enjoyed their day and makes me smile every time I see it.

I would like to wish Kristie and Aaron many, many years of happiness together and I look forward to seeing them both at Aaron's cousins wedding next July.
