Amy & Matt’s Autumn Wedding at Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex
Mid-September brought us to the stunning Upwaltham Barns, nestled in the heart of West Sussex and the South Downs, where we captured Amy & Matt’s beautiful wedding day as the leaves began to turn golden and the skies were painted with warm autumn hues.
Amy & Matt chose a timeless palette of ivory and green with hints of navy blue, seen in the groomsmen’s suits. This colour scheme blended effortlessly with the vibrant autumn colours surrounding the barns, creating an elegant and warm atmosphere.
From the moment Amy arrived in a stylish retro Camper Van, their day was sprinkled with thoughtful touches that reflected their personalities and attention to detail; from cocktail stirrers adorned with their cat’s face, to handmade cookies as place settings, and on-site illustrators sketching keepsake drawings of their guests. Everyone was made to feel truly special.
The ceremony took place in Upwaltham’s East Barn, where they exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by a stunning display of florals, setting a romantic and intimate atmosphere. This beautiful theme continued into the reception barn, where laughter and love filled the room as Amy & Matt shared some loving and also hilarious speeches after a delicious three-course dinner.

Becks and Ollie’s Summer Upwaltham Barns Wedding
Our bride and groom had the best of both weathers on their wedding day back in the summer. A rainy morning cast good luck on their ceremony at the picturesque Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petworth. We subscribe to the old adage that a wet knot is harder to untie, and we think Becks’ and Ollie's bohemian side would agree with us too!
The sun also came out and cast its rays upon the stunning West Sussex countryside home to the gorgeous Upwaltham Barns where the couple celebrated their marriage with their nearest and dearest.
The sky presented some wonderful tones and light that fell upon the hills sending out natural earthy hues which paired beautifully with the ivory, soft pink and champagne colour palette that Becks and Ollie had designed into their day.
This lovely couple certainly achieved their overall vision that the day should be unmistakably ‘Becks & Ollie’ with the unique attention they paid to all of the details to create the bohemian, elegant and chilled out vibe that they had dreamed of.

Wedding clients, Helen & Si, share their experience of choosing a Wedding Photographer
“How could we afford Kelly Hearn?” is the question that we asked ourselves when we were first shown her album. We were visiting Upwaltham Barns for a show-around of what was to be our chosen venue. In the beautiful Jasmine Cottage in pride of place on the coffee table was Kelly’s album. As we looked through, virtually every page started with a “wow”, “gosh look at this one” or “that is stunning” from one or both of us.
We have Nicola at Upwaltham Barns to thank for introducing us to Kelly. I remember so clearly her saying to us, “When you go into the cottage to look around, do take a look at Kelly’s album; it is such a shame when couples have a lovely wedding and don’t spend money on getting good photographs”. We totally agreed.
Through the album, Kelly’s photographs showed that she could capture the venue beautifully in all seasons with her knowledge of lighting specifically. The natural poses that she had couples, their families and friends take were so original and, most importantly, showcased personalities in the moment. Beautiful photographs capturing special moments from getting ready and that special time a bride has with her parents and bridesmaids, to the seriousness of the vows, through to the fun speeches and party time. We knew we just had to see if she was available and if we could afford this award-winning photographer.
As an event planner I knew the importance of contracting your chosen suppliers as soon as you can. We already had the beautiful Upwaltham Barns and therefore the totally tasteful Nibbles 2 Nosh secured. The next thing was to book the photographer and the florist. I am so glad we booked these in 17 months beforehand because it meant we got to work with the ones we wanted to all along.
