Julie & Patrick’s Spring Cowdray Walled Gardens Wedding
The Walled Garden at Cowdray nestled beneath the South Downs provided the perfect location for outdoor lovers Julie and Patrick to tie the knot this Spring.
Abundant bursts of blossom furnished this year-round stunning venue with an unmistakable seasonal ambience whilst the mild and sunny springtime weather allowed this lovely couple and their guests to mingle al fresco and celebrate taking full advantage of the picturesque gardens.
This relaxed English country garden feel was threaded with German traditions owing to Patrick’s roots and the whole day was full of fun and laughter for all.
ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL
Julie and Patrick clothed themselves and their bridal party in the classic combination of navy and ivory whilst bringing a melange of bright colours to their day with lots of lovely creative details which paired harmoniously with the vibrant, sunshine hues and tones of the gardens, creating a stunning display of colour.
Outside, these bright paper lanterns blew gently alongside the blossom in the breeze…
…whilst inside rich earthy tones filled the Courtyard Room including pretty centrepieces of delicate violas held in rustic mini pails spread among the wedding breakfast tables for guests to take home, replant and remember the day.
Even the ‘Cheese Cake’ toned in with the theme. This fabulously artistic creation by Taste Creative made from a choice of delectable cheeses and fruits boasted a seriously impressive array of colours and textures which all looked almost too good to eat!
Adding a pleasing mixture of colours and textures was Julie’s stunning bouquet skill-fully tied by Flowers In The Attic which accented her graceful gown perfectly whilst hinting to her bubbly, colourful personality.
ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDEN PARTY
Mingling with loved ones under the bright fresh spring skies was top of Julie and Patrick’s list when planning their wedding - they started their wedding with a drinks reception to set the vibe for the day getting the fun started before guests took their seats in the Castle Room to witness their beautifully heartfelt marriage ceremony.
Guests of all ages enjoyed taking in the gardens over celebratory drinks and catching up with loved ones.
YOU’VE GOT THAT VIBE
It was lovely to see how Julie and Patrick wove a delightful mix of personal elements together to create a day unique to them reflecting their own characters and life.
A peppering of traditional German dress was worn with pride especially by those bridesmaids who were sporting intricately detailed dresses which had been lovingly made by Patrick’s talented mum. These outfits added a spark of the family’s cultural roots brilliantly.
Keeping with the tradition of her English heritage Julie was a picture of style and elegance in her sophisticated fitted cut lace beaded ivory gown by Ronald Joyce.
The couple’s choice of band, starring some of their special family members, enhanced the relaxed garden party atmosphere as they filled the Walled Gardens with some of their favourite laid back acoustics.
The band even added a new tune into their repertoire especially for this joyous occasion in the form of a breezy and very catchy song which had a special meaning to Julie and Patrick. This brought much merriment and a lovely energy to the whole party who were issued with the German lyrics and encouraged to join in!
These newlyweds had catered for all of their guests making sure that a good time was had by all. The injection of bubbles into their confetti line certainly brought a fun and childlike joy to the day as the young amongst the guests had a ball firing their bubble guns, we just had to capture Julie and Patrick’s reactions to this fun moment.
The day was full of sentimental moments for us to photograph including this one as Julie and Patrick took a walk through the charming gardens hand in hand with their beautiful daughter surrounded by all of their details, relaxed and colourful, just like their celebrations.
Julie and Patrick, it was a complete joy to be part of your lovely laid back day. We hope your future together continues to be full of happy colourful vibes, and lots of mingling with friends and family!
