Jess and Jake’s Southend Barns Secret Garden Summer Wedding
The sun was certainly shining on Jess and Jake’s Southend Barns wedding day as they tied the knot in the Secret Garden, surrounded by the love and warmth radiating from their guests.
They both looked stunning amid their mellow summer colour scheme of sage for the bridesmaids holding peachy bouquets beautifully arranged by Bridal Flowers Direct. Whilst the touch of red in the groom and groomsmen’s dapper outfits from Astares injected a dedicated nod to their favourite football team!
This couple were incredibly grateful for the love and contributions of their friends and family and the great team of people around them who helped make their dream day come true.
Jess and Jake summed up their special day as “magical, joyful and beautiful”. It undoubtedly was.
MAGICAL
There was plenty of magic sprinkled throughout the day in both the couple’s chosen personal touches and in the natural moments as the wedding unfolded; like the elation reflected in their guest’s faces as the couple walked down the aisle as Mr and Mrs for the first time under a delicate shower of confetti.
We shared a delightfully unexpected moment in nature. As the newlyweds walked through the surrounding fields we spotted these deer bounding across the landscape and made sure to take a moment to watch before capturing those incredible wheat fields in images with Jess and Jake.
The day also gifted us a gorgeous sunset which always lends a dreamy feel to a wedding album and for this couple it provided a stand out moment to remember. This enchanting time of day allowed me to harness the sun to create this stunning image of Jess and Jake as the powerful rays burst through their hearts representing the love between them.
JOYFUL
The joy that the ceremony and reception brought was unmistakable as everyone enjoyed the sheer bliss of celebrating together. The spacious, lush grassed area of Southend Barns courtyard lent itself perfectly to capturing the group’s shared jubilation providing a cherished memory for the bride and groom.
The throwing of the bouquet - a traditional moment at a wedding that brings fun and laughter to friends eager to tie the knot or simply caught up in the moment! This bouquet was almost too beautiful to throw, but provided an amusing element to the wedding photos and was definitely an entertaining one to capture!
BEAUTIFUL
Jess was top to toe beautiful in her strapless gown with laced bodice complemented by a gorgeous long flowing veil and delicate bouquet of roses, made picture perfect by makeup from Kimberley Louise and hair by Natasha Channel.
Photographing the bride when all the planning has come together before she walks down the aisle is a truly special moment; a snapshot in time of the gorgeous look that a bride has created. The bridal suite’s full length mirror helped us capture the full glory of Jess’ wedding day style.
And it wasn’t just the bride looking beautiful!
The 200-year-old Threshing Barn was looking absolutely stunning too. The couple’s vision of romantic elegance for the day all came together with the help and teamwork from the incredibly creative To Have and To Hire - who worked wonders with the enchanting, twinkling festooning lights, banquet table layout adornments and flower and foliage arrangements - and Laurel Designs - who supplied the signage, candle sticks and floating candles - not forgetting Bridal Flowers Direct for the added touch of eucalyptus threaded all the way through the middle of the table. The perfect setting for an intimate five course meal exquisitely prepared by Roots.
Of course beauty is not only aesthetic, moments can be beautiful too. These were here in abundance, including the moment that Jess and Jake said their vows and became husband and wife in the Barn’s ‘Secret Garden’.
And to one of the final images in their Wedding Album. Taken at dusk, Jess and Jake steal a moment alone together as their joyful day comes to a close. We feel it has all the magic and beauty of the love that Jess and Jake share.
Congratulations to Jess and Jake, it was an absolute privilege to be part of your wedding. You certainly created a truly magical day for yourselves and your guests. It was so uplifting to share in your joy and I wish you all the best for a long and beautiful life together.
