Lauren & Richard’s Summer Wedding at Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex.
Two venues, one wonderfully relaxed summer wedding, and a day where the love seemed to grow as the celebrations unfolded. Lauren & Richard began at Edes House in Chichester, sharing their vows surrounded by their closest family and friends before heading out onto the lawn for drinks, laughter and a brilliant ‘bubble’ send-off.
A gorgeous vintage car, provided by a family friend, then whisked them away from the city and into the South Downs to Upwaltham Barns, where more guests were waiting and the summer party really began. Pimm’s, craft beer and canapés set the tone for an afternoon and evening that felt wonderfully easy-going and completely centred around family, happiness and fun.
Lauren’s favourite colour, teal, ran throughout the day, softened with pretty peach tones in the flowers and details. Against the warm brickwork of Edes House and the natural greens and golden countryside at Upwaltham, it created a fresh, colourful palette that suited their love of the outdoors perfectly.
There was so much personality to capture throughout the celebrations – relaxed moments with family and friends, creative groups, plenty of laughter during the speeches and a feast from Nibbles2Nosh, finished with a dessert bar and fabulous brownie-stack wedding cake. Then it was onto a choreographed first dance before the dance floor filled for the evening.
And amongst all that energy, we stole Lauren & Richard away for a little time together. Up on the iconic Upwaltham hill, the late summer sun dropped behind the South Downs, bathing the fields in golden light. Lauren’s veil caught the breeze and suddenly everything felt wonderfully quiet – a chance to create something atmospheric and romantic while still keeping that relaxed, outdoorsy feel that had been woven through their whole day.
Lauren & Richard, we absolutely loved capturing the different chapters of your wedding, from the intimacy and character of Edes House to the laughter, sunshine and party atmosphere at Upwaltham. Thank you for having us along for such a happy, fun-filled summer celebration.
