Anthia & Brad’s Summer Wedding in The Village Of Chobham, Surrey.
There’s something rather special about a wedding that takes place right at the heart of where your story began. For Anthia & Brad, that place is Chobham – the village where their families live, where they grew up and, fittingly, where a meeting at the local pub was the beginning of everything that followed.
It felt completely natural that Chobham should become the backdrop to their wedding too. A church ceremony in the village was followed by a relaxed marquee celebration on the green, with the couple choosing local suppliers wherever they could – from their florist and hairdresser to the food and church itself. It gave the whole day a wonderful sense of community and connection to a place that means so much to them both.
Their styling was full of the colours of an English summer. Dusty blue bridesmaid dresses and Brad’s classic navy suit sat alongside meadow-inspired flowers, soft natural tones and wild greenery. Hand-painted wooden signs, creatively made by Anthia herself, photo bunting and relaxed festival touches brought plenty of personality to the marquee and made everything feel unmistakably ‘them’.
We loved using the village itself for their photographs. The old stone church, village streets and familiar corners gave us such a varied collection of backdrops, but more importantly, every one of them belonged to Anthia & Brad’s story. There is something lovely about creating photographs in places already filled with memories, knowing that these images now add another chapter.
And what a June day they had! Glorious sunshine carried the celebrations through from church to marquee, with plenty of laughter during the speeches and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere amongst family and friends. Then, as the sun began to sink, we slipped away into the meadow behind the marquee. In the soft golden light, away from the bustle of the party, we had a little time to create some relaxed and romantic portraits – a gorgeous ending to the photography.
Anthia & Brad chose three words to describe their wedding: love, joy and connection. Looking back through their images, it’s hard to think of three that could sum it up better – connection to each other, to their families and friends, and to the village that has been part of their lives for so long.
