Laura and Andy’s Summer Upwaltham Barns Wedding
Laura and Andy’s wedding at the charming Upwaltham Barns set among the stunning surroundings of the South Down National Park was a day full of fun, lots of laughter and an abundance of love.
The bridal party were certainly in high spirits as they took in the vista from the venue’s iconic hill sharing in a celebratory moment. The long golden summer grasses swayed lightly in the breeze as they stood together showcasing the couple’s gorgeous colour palette; the boys in classic blue and the girls in complementing blush pink.
This bride and groom’s vivacious personalities shone brightly throughout the day in their chosen creative touches right down to the vibrant pink in Andy and his groomsmen’s buttonholes and Laura and her bridesmaid’s bouquets.
It was a delight to discover more about these newlyweds as the day unfolded. Andy making a statement in this head turning classic sports car. Arriving in this AC Cobra meant arriving in style proclaiming his love of motors and his need for speed!
The car’s Mauritius blue exterior tied in perfectly with the hues of the boys’ three-piece tweed suits by Marc Darcy and we just couldn’t resist posing them around this motor of beauty allowing them to enjoy looking sharp as they style it out. We just had to capture the enjoyment that it brought to Andy on this momentous day.
Laura sprinkled her personality throughout the day with her vision to adapt her outfit to each part of the day.
Starting as she crossed the courtyard arm in arm with her father, she kept it classy and demure with an intricate bolero and long veil and a stunning train for her bridesmaids to walk behind – the perfect look for a father and bride portrait and for making that breath-taking entrance into the ceremony room.
They certainly chose the right venue to complement her traditional style with its quintessentially English rose adorned rustic flint and brick courtyard cottages.
With the formalities complete the day became increasingly relaxed and Laura matched this vibe by setting her bolero & veil aside for a timeless, light and lacy summer look.
Her style was entirely fitting of the country cottage garden’s floral backdrop with its abundance of roses in full pink bloom perfectly tying in with the pretty pink tones in her bouquet from the very talented Floral Artisan.
We harnessed this harmonious combination by posing Laura and Andy together to capture a timeless portrait curating all the romance and enchantment of the day.
As day turned to night the sky lit up with vibrancy. The party was seconds away from raising the roof just as Laura made her last felicitous transformation. By donning the striking hand embellished, white crystal waterfall beaded Sadie White Dress by Nadine Merabi complete with killer heels this bride meant business.
We just had to team Laura in this sensational vintage dress with Andy and his choice of vintage motor - Andy was in his element standing proud next to his new beautiful wife on the bonnet of this car of dreams.
Without further ado, they were ready to hit the dance floor and throw some shapes with their family and friends.
Laura made another show stopping entrance as she revealed her last look of the day to all the happy guests gathered ready to boogie and she was soon sashaying her way towards her husband for their funky first dance.
These exuberant newlyweds certainly spelt out their LOVE of a good time as they made the most of their first dance together as husband and wife kickstarting the party. The beaded dress was swinging and the shapes were flowing as the dance floored quickly filled.
Laura and Andy may your personalities continue to shine as you share your love and you drive and dance together into the future. We hope that your images of your magical day are a reminder of all the fun and laughter you shared together with the people who matter most in your lives.
