Becks and Ollie’s Summer Upwaltham Barns Wedding
Our bride and groom had the best of both weathers on their wedding day back in the summer. A rainy morning cast good luck on their ceremony at the picturesque Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petworth. We subscribe to the old adage that a wet knot is harder to untie, and we think Becks’ and Ollie's bohemian side would agree with us too!
The sun also came out and cast its rays upon the stunning West Sussex countryside home to the gorgeous Upwaltham Barns where the couple celebrated their marriage with their nearest and dearest.
The sky presented some wonderful tones and light that fell upon the hills sending out natural earthy hues which paired beautifully with the ivory, soft pink and champagne colour palette that Becks and Ollie had designed into their day.
This lovely couple certainly achieved their overall vision that the day should be unmistakably ‘Becks & Ollie’ with the unique attention they paid to all of the details to create the bohemian, elegant and chilled out vibe that they had dreamed of.
EXPRESS YOURSELF
We wanted our photography to capture the new Mr and Mrs Salley’s fun and relaxed personalities throughout the day.
We showed them off as individuals in their stylish attire upon the iconic Upwaltham hill whilst framing them in the long wispy grasses to reflect the pampas in Becks’ bouquet skillfully created by The Floral Artisan further adding to the bohemian feel.
We used a range of angles, perspectives and creativity in that one hilltop location, to capture a blend of images that work together, but equally have their own presence and power.
A close up of Becks as her groom masquerades behind her elegant floating veil adds an unconventional concept to the portrait enhanced by its contemporary twist of angles and shapes giving focus to the beautiful bride.
Whilst bringing Becks and Ollie closer together face to face made for a romantic moment together at sundown lends a more natural expression to their photography.
TELL IT HOW IT IS
We also worked to portray the style and looks that Becks and Ollie brought as the day unfolded including the groomsmen as they readied themselves in this converted horse box which tied in perfectly with their countryside fashion of tweed suits and bow ties.
Hints of personality shone through as we posed the group to convey their humour and the upbeat, laid back feel of the morning as it was.
SHOWCASING THE SHOWGIRLS
Becks’ bridesmaid portrait certainly speaks a thousand words bringing her choice of dreamy colours and bohemian chic themes all together as each of the girls style out their sleek silk dresses in their own way.
The neutrals of the bridesmaids dresses worked perfectly with the tones of Becks’ ‘Ziggy’ dress by Australian designer Evie Young with its intricate floral patterned lace dress and latte undertone. Which all seamlessly complemented the colours of the venue’s stunning scenery.
STYLING THE VENUE
Becks and Ollie kept it classy in The South Barn for their lavish summer-inspired wedding breakfast served by Nibbles2Nosh. They had thought of every detail, even down to the tied knot napkins and accents of lavish gold in the table details echoing the golden glow of the day.
We captured this picturesque moment of the newlyweds enjoying some time at the centre of their vision, taking it all in.
The room was draped in lush green foliage bringing back that natural, boho chic style that they had worked into their whole day.
It’s details like this that we never miss because we know that by showcasing all of the finer touches of the day can enhance the wedding album coming to life as it serves as a reminder of how all the ideas and plans came together.
Ollie and Becks, we loved how you had such a strong vision to create your day with such flare and filled with fun and laughter. It was a pleasure to see your personalities shining throughout your beautiful day and wish you many years of styling it out in the future as you embark on your life’s journey together.
