LOVE AND THE CITY

Beth & Jordan’s City Spring Time Wedding
It was a complete joy to kick off the season with Beth and Jordan’s spring time wedding. They absolutely nailed the notion of small being beautiful as they shared their special day with 15 of their close family and friends. The intimacy of the day allowed for their creative characters to shine through in all their chosen details and added touches and allowed us (quite literally) to go to town creatively capturing their big day.
When I met with this lovely couple they gave me a good sense of how their dream images would look; a mix of romance and edgy artistic. So off I went for a recce around their Portsmouth based ceremony location to scout the city’s hot spots ready and prepared to fully meet their brief.
It was a real family affair for Beth as she glammed up at her parent’s house in the morning together with her mum and sisters allowing us to highlighting the loving bond between them.
Meanwhile, the strong hues and lineal textures of this urban spot provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the solidarity between Jordan and his best men allowing their dusky pink ties to add a pop of colour. It’s amazing how an industrial estate landscape can scrub up!
The personal significance of the ceremony venue, the couple’s place of worship, gave an extra special meaning to that poignant pause of the bride and her father as they began their journey down the aisle together. A black and white image perfectly suited this timeless, classic moment.
We find that a confetti shot never fails to delight our couples. This image totally sums up the utter happiness of the newly weds as they share their unmistakable joy with all their guests.
Now for ticking the “edgy, arty” box! Beth and Jordan were over the moon with these portrait images against this bold, striking red industrial location firstly adding an extra touch of style and sass with Beth’s leather jacket and then an element of fun with the umbrellas and a very impressive jump from Jordan!
And we didn’t stop there. This awesome piece of street art with its vivid colours and urban design brilliantly added a further injection of ‘unique’ into Beth and Jordan’s portraits showing the fun and relaxed vibe of the day.
We found a spot for classically romantic images too, in the picturesque coastal town of Emsworth, Hampshire, where Beth grew up. Here the newlyweds stole a blissful moment together under the spring’s evening glow as the dappled sunlight cast their shadows across the texture of the pebbled shore.
We were thrilled to receive these words from the new Mr and Mrs Jones and happy they were so pleased with their images.
“The whole experience was amazing! We loved how unique and fun our photos are, as well as having the romantic ones!”
Congratulations once again Bethany and Jordan. We wish you every happiness in your future together and hope you enjoy sharing your photos and reflecting on your very special day.
